Cumberland County Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer emergency response team that has been serving Cumberland County and surrounding areas in South Central Pennsylvania since 2001. We are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.

Our membership consists of individuals from area fire, police, and ambulance departments, along with individuals in the community who train and serve specifically for search operations.  The team includes personnel trained in basic and advanced grid search techniques, managing search operations, map and compass skills, wilderness first-aid, and rope rescue.

We can provide certified field team members, field team leaders, search managers, Amateur HAM Radio Operators, ground, airscent and K9 teams. We also provide educational programs designed to help the public and other emergency service providers prevent and respond to lost person incidents.

We also have Merit Badge Counselors who work with local Boy Scout troops on obtaining their Search and Rescue Merit Badge. We are particularly proud of our Hug-A-Tree program that teaches children what to do if they are lost in the woods.

We just acquired some new radios and we are working on programming and learning them.  We also received a donation that allowed us to buy uniforms for our team members.

Cumberland County Search and Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization and operates purely on fundraising and donations.  All donations to the team are tax deductible.  Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
